Dental & Tooth Anatomy

One of the body's most distinctive and intricate histological and anatomical structures is the tooth. Just the dental structures and the mouth cavity contain the tissue makeup of a tooth. The opposite jaw has teeth that fall under the same group, but they are paired inside the same jaw. Yet, they are organized based on function rather than structure. This unique sort of joint is called a gomphosis, and it is located within the upper and lower alveolar bones of the maxilla and mandible, respectively.
