Infection Control & Sterilization
Any in-office infection control program must include sterilizer monitoring in addition to the correct sterilization of tools and supplies. The CDC urges dentists to use only dental handpieces that have received FDA clearance and to disinfect them by manufacturer recommendations. Dentists are also advised to adhere to manufacturer guidelines for processing and sterilizing all dental instruments and materials.
